With ever-increasing importance on the environmental and social credentials of construction, Hilltop’s lending focuses on affordable, well-located and high quality projects that take measurable steps towards sustainable residential development.

Pascoe Homes’ development of The Klondyke Works at Ashford, Kent will deliver 93 one and two-bed units in 3 phases that satisfy the demands of modern urban living.

Construction features

This project uses an innovative helical piled foundation – a totally-sustainable, steel screw-in anchoring system with additional environmental benefits such as:

  • Significantly less resources required
  • Reduced vehicle / plant movement and spoil removal
  • 75yr assured lifespan (compared to typical 25yr)
  • 100% recycled steel
  • Protection of land against acidic contamination

Internal features

Internally, communal lifts employ a mechanical system saving 75% of the energy used by standard lift systems, whilst development-wide, state-of-the-art heating is fossil fuel free, which further minimises the carbon footprint of the development.

Individual units finished to high-quality specifications will include environmentally friendly features such as energy saving triple glazing. Bespoke kitchens come from Paula Rosa Manhattan‘s ultra-sustainable Planet2050 range. All units assist the housing industry’s Climate Change Act 2008 environmental targets for sustainable residential development.

Rich Pascoe, of Pascoe Homes commented:  “It has been a great experience partnering with Hilltop. They have delivered the funding as required and when required, providing us with a great service from the get-go. They understand our needs and have continued to provide support since our first interaction. We look forward to working with Hilltop on future projects.”

Despite events since the beginning of the Covid pandemic, delays in construction have not been significantly impacted. Development has moved from groundworks into the lower risk building phase, with the final structure complete on one block and works at various stages on the remaining 6.
